The Aspen Camp (AC) invites businesses and
organizations to enjoy our beautiful Snowmass
property when AC is not hosting camps for the deaf
community. Sometimes organizations have a specific
retreat format in mind and simply wish to host the
retreat at the camp.
|
|
The AC compliments any agenda
as much or as little as needed.
All businesses and organizations
depend on the effectiveness of the employees
working together. AC has the resources to
develop this vital cohesion through unique team
building and group activities. Enhance any group
retreat by incorporating the AC
ropes challenge course, for
example, which develops team skills,
communication, and mutual support. It is also an
exhilarating experience! |

Western Slope Spring Retreat
The annual spring retreat will be brought back after a
year’s hiatus due to overwhelming demand. AC
anticipates more than 20 deaf and hard of hearing
students plus teachers and parent chaperones from the
western slope of Colorado to attend this event. While
this event is a primarily educational, it also serves to
meet the interaction/socialization purposes as outlined
in the Deaf Child Bill of Rights.

Family Retreat with Hands & Voices
AC will be hosting a weekend retreat for families with
deaf and hard of hearing students in May. This segment
of the population faces unique issues. There will be
literacy activities for the children and workshops for
the adults. Bringing the families together to share
ideas and develop a support group is at the core of
Hands & Voices (www.handsandvoices.org)
mission. AC is excited to work with this organization
on our first annual event at the camp. |

Extreme Sports Camp
ESC hosts overnight summer camps for children with
autism and their chaperones at the AC. Since this group
is completely self-contained with their own programming
and certified instructors,
ESC (www.extremesportscamp.org)
contracts only accommodations and basic services from
AC. |
