$50 for our 50th Anniversary Fundraising Campaign
Snowmass, CO – In honor of their 50th anniversary, Aspen Camp is asking the community to come together to assist with purchasing a new van. The current vans are over 22 years old. “The vans are older than most summer counselors. Which means we need to upgrade to new vans.” states Lesa Thomas, Aspen Camp’s Executive Director. Every summer the camp hosts over 100 Deaf* children from all over the world. Typically each camper flies into Denver International Airport and the camp staff picks them up and drops them off every session. The van will also be utilized to transport campers to the many local activities they participate in during their stay, such as rafting, hiking, and swimming, provided by local businesses. Camp provides a life changing experience for many.
It is easy to participate in the $50 for our 50th fundraising campaign, just go to www.aspencamp.org/50for50. Realizing this can be a lot of money for some, Carol Fabian, Aspen Camp’s Development Director suggests folks “get a group of 5 co-workers or friends together and each chip in $10. It will be rewarding, especially when you see the camp van driving around the Valley, knowing that you helped purchase it.” Also, those who donate, will have an opportunity to name the van, which will be introduced at the annual Deaf Camp Benefit, on July 15th in Snowmass Village.
