In our last letter, we mentioned the improvements to camp facilities. We owe a great deal of gratitude to everyone who supported us for the pilot of the Job Skills Training Camp. This program brought transitional students from Colorado School for the Deaf Blind, Utah School for the Deaf Blind, and New Mexico School for the Deaf to provide them skills in construction trade, occupational safety procedures and life skills.

With funds raised by the Roaring Fork Leadership Cohort, the Job Skills Training Camp participants replaced the outdoor stage and seating area, dug a trench and built a concrete platform for a propane tank, completely painted the exterior of our Main Lodge and installed the new entrance sign.

We are excited to be helping high school aged students and graduates launch out into the world with more skills. Last year’s four day Job Skills Training Camp will expand to two weeks with a total of five Schools for the Deaf, adding on a culinary and food safe training program with all the previous skills sets mentioned. This effort demonstrates our commitment to youth. We appreciate your belief in this new direction for the Aspen Camp.Consider making a gift today for the future careers of the deaf and hard of hearing youth who come to Aspen Camp.Your support through Colorado Gives Day campaign will help us move along with this exciting new program- ColoradoGives.org/organization/ACDHH
