Today’s the day– Colorado Gives Day is here! We are thankful for having this opportunity to share the hard work so many volunteers have given to help Aspen Camp thrive and our community flourish this year. Today, we can all make a greater impact and position Aspen Camp for another incredible year ahead.
We are so appreciative of the support of alumni, neighbors, community members and families as the Camp continues its comeback since the start of the pandemic.
In addition to what we recently shared about our new Job Skills Training Camp, offering youth a range of skills from construction to culinary arts, the Camp is in planning mode right now to revive winter programming!
In January, we’re bringing back our most popular event Women’s Snowshoe Retreat (WSR). We’re also looking at two more dates for winter programming for adults, families, children, and youth. Follow us on any social media platform using /AspenCamp to learn about our programming events.
Our third year of “Families in Nature” camps will serve parents and children from ages 5-12 facilitated by a star team of volunteer educators. We are committed to collaboration with local schools and organizations.
The Association of Nature and Forest Therapy will host their training in June at the Aspen Camp. Additionally we received a grant from National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) Wilderness Medicine Institute to offer a first Wilderness First Aid class on campus.
Our longer term plan for our facilities require greater renovations and modernization. Our bathhouse and septic system are some of the primary infrastructure goals. We are excited to move ourselves along in these times of technological advances with more accessibility as well. A fresh website, creating more connections through social media, sharing our strategic plan and acknowledging our donors are part of the upcoming efforts of the Camp Board.
Any ongoing donations here with the Colorado Gives Day campaign will continue to move us along into the Camp’s stable future. Check out our website www.aspencamp.org as well as the opportunity to make a generous end of year donation here: ColoradoGives.org/organization/ACDHH.
