The Aspen Camp of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing was able to partner with two organizations to offer a four day experience for a small group of Deaf women who struggle with ongoing life challenges as survivors of domestic violence. The non-profit DOVE: Deaf Overcoming Violence through Empowerment from Denver, Colorado and Sego Lily Center for the Abused Deaf of Utah joined us here in Snowmass for a program related to choice, change, laughter, outdoor time and self care. This program was grant funded and a wonderful opportunity for eight women to connect with one another through a shared weekend of experiences put on by their staff and one Camp Board member.
