Summer Camp Seasonal Staff & Interpreters
Welcome to Aspen Camp of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing! We are excited that you’re considering joining our dynamic and inclusive Summer Camp team.
Thank you for your interest. The application for 2026 is now closed. For 2027, please keep an eye out for summer staff and interpreter openings in January, with applications closing at the end of February.
Camp Nurse
🩺 Camp Nurse – Summer 2026
Aspen Camp of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing is seeking a dedicated and licensed Camp Nurse to support the health, safety, and well-being of campers and staff throughout our full Summer Camp season.
Available session dates:
• June 8–20
• June 21–July 1
• July 2–9
• Optional staff training: May 26–June 5
You’re welcome to join us for the full summer (May 26–July 15) or for specific sessions.
The Camp Nurse plays a vital leadership role in ensuring a safe, responsive, and supportive camp environment.
👩⚕️ Qualifications
Must hold a current and active nursing license (RN, LPN, CN, CNA, or equivalent).
Experience working with youth, residential programs, or camp settings preferred.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage medical documentation and medication administration.
🏕️ Responsibilities
Live and sleep on campus throughout the summer program.
Oversee camper and staff health and wellness during all camp sessions.
Administer medications and maintain secure, organized medical records.
Respond to injuries, illnesses, and medical needs as they arise.
Attend and support all off-campus activities, including rafting, horseback riding, hiking, rock climbing, high ropes course, and other adventures, to provide medical guidance and support as needed.
Communicate with families and leadership regarding health-related concerns.
Maintain compliance with camp health policies and applicable regulations.

🤟 Community & Eligibility
Open to licensed nurses within the signing community (Deaf, Hard of Hearing, DeafBlind, Deaf+, CODA).
Hearing applicants are welcome and must be willing to work in an ASL-rich, signing environment.

Summer Camp Junior Counselors (Age 18-20)
🌱 Junior Counselor Opportunities
Aspen Camp of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing is excited to offer Junior Counselor positions for young adults who are interested in gaining experience in camp leadership and mentorship.
Junior Counselors are considered Counselors-in-Training and play a valuable support role within our summer programs.
👥 Who Can Apply
Ages 18–20
Members of the signing community (Deaf, Hard of Hearing, DeafBlind, Deaf+, CODA)
Comfortable working in an immersive ASL environment
🏕️ Basic Expectations for Junior Counselors
Live and sleep in cabins with campers.
Support Counselors in supervising campers and ensuring their health and well-being.
Assist with daily routines and cabin responsibilities.
Support activity development alongside Specialized Staff and Counselors.
Encourage, motivate, and engage campers to actively participate in activities.
Model positive behavior, teamwork, and responsibility.
📅 Schedule & Training
Junior Counselors will arrive and depart on the same dates as campers for each session.
No in-person staff training is required.
Junior Counselors will participate in a required Zoom training session prior to camp.
We will accept up to 2 Junior Counselors per session. This is unpaid position.
